So this summer I bleached my partially grown out brown (almost black) hair to blonde. I thought it would be nice since it was my natural hair color when I was younger and it was nice for a while but I'm already sick of it and want some ideas for what to do with it now. My hair now is pretty much exactly the same as it was in August but a couple inches longer now (color/cut):

I need a second opinion!

I recently cut off all my hair for a pixie cut which I love. I thought I might try for a bright white color. I've bleached it twice now with various bright blonde kits that promise a pale ashy blonde (yeah yeah i know...). Which I did get. And it was cute. But not as bright as I want. I have toner (punky toner) and I used it over the pale pale yellowy blonde I had achieved and parts are blue-ish white, parts are murky lavender blonde. Not entirely an ugly color but not what I want. I realize I need to bleach it again with a real bleach kit (not some boxed blonde) but I have limited time and resources to track one down. I could potentially find one.

However, now I'm kind of tired of the idea and I'm doubting that it will even look that great on me. I mean, I suppose if I managed it, it could look pretty cool but so far it's been a lot more money and effort than I think it may be worth. I'm considering just dying it a flamboyant auburn red instead. I've had red hair before and it looks all right. I'm concerned though what red will look like over this purpley neutral toner color I have now. Or if it will even look that great. Any thoughts?

okay, so i have returned from a year long LJ absence to find myself some hair advice. i have been pretty stuck with my hair since...well, forever, and need some new ideas. i am stuck between keeping it short, or growing it back long. also, was thinking about going lighter, but since i've never dyed my hair (after threats from hairdressers saying to never "ruin" my natural hair colour"), im a little nervous. i've included a small timeline of my hair the past few years, and annnnnnny suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks a million!

so, I've had the same bangs for as long as I can remember so I was thinking of switching it up a little bit. I'm just not sure what to do. should I leave them to grow a bit longer, cut them shorter, or leave them like this?

OOkay so this isn't a recent photo of me (but yes, I still look like a dork) but it shows the mess that's on my head. The long side is a little past my shoulder and the short side is right at my chin. I just found out that I'm going to a wedding and I have no idea what to do with my hair!
I'd rather not cut my hair but if somebody has a good suggestion, I'd rather not cut it back to an asym or something shorter then chin length. I'll cut my bangs though because they're really gross.

I was thinking of pulling the short side over to the long and curling the longer side. Does anybody have examples of a hairstyle like that?
Oh! I also have short hair extensions but never really used them..maybe they would be helpful?

Ladies, please help me! I would like to look somewhat decent at this wedding! It's my first one so I'm really excited!

Can I see before & afters of people that have successfully gone from blonde to brunette? I'm thinking about coloring my hair a medium brown, but I'm really nervous because I've had it in the past, and I always felt like my eyebrows didn't look right with it.

x-posted to [info]cutshort

First is about semi-permanent dyes.
I dyed my hair almost 3 weeks ago. I was wondering when the appropriate time to dye it again was?
I tried resisting to use head and shoulders but it works wonders on my sensitive scalp so I started using it again which is fading the color.
It has faded to a lightish orange but it's starting to get more brown again. If I weren't such a wimp I would just dye it permanently haha

Hope this is the right place to ask this, apologies if not!
How long would you all recommend leaving between box dyes?
I used a (semi-permanent - L'Oreal Casting Creme in Butterscotch if that helps) box dye tonight and though it worked as expected, the colour is a LOT brighter than I'd hoped.
I also have a box of a darker shade of the same dye (Amber) - which I've used before and liked the colour. Would I be able to use this over the top of my recently dyed hair or it will go a crazy colour?
How long do I need to wait to avoid damaging my hair too much?
I'm naturally blonde so can't imagine any kind of colour stripping will help in this case.
Thanks!

HALP!

I'm NEVER happy with my hair. EVER.

timeline from the past year )

So, I'm debating... Letting it grow out, or getting it trimmed so its more a-liney. Also, keeping it blonde and going lighter with it, or doing something different. I'm even willing to do craziness! I've been thinking about adding some teal/blue but I'm not 100% sure 'cause I haven't done it since 10th grade, and I'm now 22.

Okay so I've been really thinking about dying my hair but I've never died my hair before in my life haha I don't know if I should do highlights or what.. This is what my hair looks like straight..it's naturally curly/wavy too..
